Jones Wood Products offers two sawmilling services.  Each has its own advantages and purposes.

The portable band sawmill is most often used to cut logs into building and construction material.  Ben Jones is a certified sawyer and sawmill with the state of New Hampshire.  He has taken the grading certification course and can structurally certify the material he cuts to be used in construction projects.  Many of our customers utilize this method to cut timbers for new and historic restoration timber frame projects.  Currently he can cut timbers up to 33 feet long and will be cutting over 45 feet long soon. The mill is mobile and is towed directly to the job site. Ben can set up anywhere there is truck access.

The Alaskan chain saw mill is most often used in remote locations which don't have truck access. This saw is used to cut out slabs or planks for table tops, bar tops with or without live edge, bed frames and other rustic furniture. It can cut logs up to 54 inches wide and unlimited length.

Hardwood and softwood can be cut with both mills.
